Carlo Ancelotti provides Vinícius Jr. injury update after Barcelona 4-3 Real Madrid | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on the wellbeing of star attacker Vinícius Jr.

This comes after the Brazilian was forced into a premature departure from the club’s most recent outing.

Real Madrid of course marked their return to action on Sunday evening, making the trip to Catalunya’s capital for a top-of-the-table La Liga showdown with arch rivals Barcelona.

Wide-man Vinícius for his part featured from the off in the clash, from his customary berth on the left flank.

En route to an eventual 4-3 defeat for Los Blancos, however, the 24-year-old was hooked from proceedings late on, in evident discomfort.

Vinícius, from here, was seen on the visitors’ bench, being tended to by the Real Madrid medical staff.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at Montjuïc, the subject of his wing star’s wellbeing was in turn put to Carlo Ancelotti.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to confirm:

“Vinícius has an ankle problem.”
