Carlo Ancelotti responds to boos and jeers from Real Madrid fans | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Saturday spoken out regarding the frosty reception afforded to him by the club’s fans in midweek.

Real, of course, were back in action on Thursday night, playing host to Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey.

And though Los Blancos ultimately emerged 5-2 victors, the atmosphere surrounding the clash was something of a tense one.

After their side were embarrassed by arch rivals Barcelona for the 2nd time this season, on this occasion in the finale of the Spanish Super Cup, the Real Madrid faithful made their grievances very much known.

Ahead of kick-off against Celta, the likes of Aurélien Tchouaméni, Ferland Mendy and the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti were all subjected to boos, whistles and jeers on the part of the Santiago Bernabéu crowd.

Speaking in his latest pre-match press conference on Saturday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of as much was put to Real’s headmaster himself.

And Ancelotti made use of the opportunity to take the responsibility for last weekend’s Clásico defeat on his own shoulders:

“There are many things I have to improve. The game vs Barcelona was my fault, the whistles were good, deserved.”
