Marc Cucurella has won over Enzo Maresca and Chelsea are no longer looking to sign a new left back according to reports.
Cucurella joined the Blues from Brighton in a deal worth £63m from Brighton in the summer of 2022, but initially struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain international was booed at times by Chelsea fans during his first season at the club, but his turn around in fortunes has been remarkable.
The 26-year-old showed signs of improvement under Mauricio Pochettino last season, but really came into his own at the back end of the campaign after being inverted into midfield.
The Spaniard looked like a player transformed and carried his form onto the international stage where he excelled as Spain won Euro 2024.
Things could have been very different and Cucurella was very close to joining Manchester United on loan in the summer of 2023, but that move failed to materialise.

Cucurella has continued his brilliant form at the start of this season and Jason Cundy believes he’s now one of the first names on the team sheet.
Such has been his form TBR Football have reported Cucurella has won over Maresca and Chelsea now no longer see a new left back as a priority in the upcoming transfer windows.
The Spaniard recently praised Maresca for the start he’s made and the new ideas he’s implemented since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Cucurella is very much Chelsea’s first choice left back, with Ben Chilwell frozen out and Renato Veiga is now the understudy, although Reece James has played at left back on a couple of occasions this season.

I don’t think anyone would have expected thing to pan out how they have for Cucurella after his first season and he deserves huge credit for how he’s turned things around.
