Chelsea are going to be facing a huge unprecedented issue in the away leg of their Conference League semi-final this week.

The news comes off the back of Chelsea getting an essential three points on Saturday afternoon by beating Everton 1-0 at home after a fantastic first half goal from striker Nicolas Jackson ending his 2025 goal draught.

EXCLUSIVE! Three Chelsea players who are not enjoying the football under Enzo Maresca!

It was far from an easy game for Chelsea though, and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez became the unlikely hero and was actually the reason that they could see the win out and collect all three points, making some big second half saves to deny certain goals.

Another one of Chelsea’s best players on the pitch was defender Trevoh Chalobah and really, he was a strong candidate for man of the match too. Enzo Maresca defended Chelsea’s decision to let him go on loan in the summer after then recalling him in the winter.

And The Blues’ next game is against Swedish side Djurgarden this coming Thursday in the first leg of their Conference League semi-final match. But there is an issue….

Chelsea face unexpected problem

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea may be set for a miserable experience in their Conference League semi-final first leg in Stockholm this week over concerns with an artificial pitch.

It has emerged that the Swedish side’s own players have voiced their frustration with the new turf at 3Arena, believing it affects even the simplest of passes.

Wideman Adam Stahl complained that the ball moved unusually on the pitch and noted that the surface differs significantly from their training ground. He also claimed that straight balls often veer away from the intended target, breaking up moves.

Forward August Priske has also taken aim at the pitch, describing it as challenging.
