Milan Futuro have had a difficult start to their first season as they sit second-bottom in the Serie C table, and there are ongoing assessments regarding four players regarded as being on the verge of the first team.

As Calciomercato.com write, the Futuro might be near the bottom of the table and with just one league win, but it is a team full of talent. The first objective above results is to develop these players, and there are some opinions being formed.

Alex Jimenez feels like the closest player to regular first team minutes as he is consistently among the best on the field, mentally he is always in the game and technically he is above the level. Milan invested in him during the summer, and his versatility could be very useful to Paulo Fonseca moving forward.

Kevin Zeroli meanwhile is the captain of the team and his role has shifted from being an attacking midfielder to more of a mezzala, but in terms of temperament he has been disappointing so far. Fonseca admires him though, and the coming months will be key for his development.

Mattia Liberali was the star of preseason for many but he is two years younger than most of his team-mates in the Futuro side, which consequently means less pressure. In terms of vision of the game and technique he is probably the strongest player in the entire youth sector, but for tactical reasons he is not getting regular starts.

Francesco Camarda is the only 16-year-old starter in Serie C in Italy. After Two goals in the Coppa Italia Serie C against Novara and one in the league from a penalty kick the feeling was that he would explode, yet he is instead trying to take small steps forward game after game. At the moment he is not yet ready to be decisive in Serie A, though his potential remains unquestionable.
