AC Milan and Bologna will face each other twice in the space of five days, and it will give the managements a chance to meet and discuss things.

As Calciomercato.com report, Friday night’s Serie A game at San Siro will be a nice appetiser before the main course: the Coppa Italia final scheduled for May 14 at the Stadio Olimpico. The two games are also an opportunity also for a discussion to take place between the two leaderships.

The names in question

Above all, in discussions with the Bologna hierarchy, the Rossoneri directors want to understand the intentions of the Rossoblu regarding Tommaso Pobega. He is on loan there with an option to buy, which is set at €12m.

Vincenzo Italiano’s name is being considered by Milan for the post-Conceicao era. He arrived in Bologna with a lot to lose and little to gain, but he might end up doing even better than Thiago Motta’s last season, without being able to count on Riccardo Calafiori and Joshua Zirkzee too.

If in the last two seasons it was Bologna who signed from Milan, with Alexis Saelemaekers, Tommaso Pobega and most recently Davide Calabria swapping the red and black shirt for a red and blue one.

Next summer the opposite could happen, because the Diavolo like a few of Bologna’s players. Geoffrey Moncada in particular is a big admirer of their winger and captain Riccardo Orsolini, amid rumours that Samuel Chukwueze could leave.

Not only that, but centre-backs Sam Beukema and John Lucumi have been ‘put under the magnifying glass’ while rumours continue to swirl that there could be some changes in that department at Milan before 2025-26.
