The reporter from Milanello Peppe Di Stefano argued that the Portuguese coach wants to deploy ‘fresh’ and ‘motivated’ players in Lecce.
According to the report, Davide Bartesaghi was tried in the left-back position instead of Theo, while Riccardo Sottil replaced Leao on the left wing, joining Christian Pulisic, deployed as No.10, and Alex Jimenez on the right wing.
Tammy Abraham played as a sole striker in training today.
Matteo Gabbia is favourite over Fikayo Tomori to replace the suspended Strahinja Pavlović in central defence, and Marco Sportiello will replace Mike Maignan, who will also serve a one-game ban in Lecce.
