What a performance to cement your claim on a Champions League spot: Dortmund are fully back in contention for one of the four sought-after Champions League ranks after a deserved 4-0 victory over Wolfsburg.

Niko Kovač has prepared his team brilliantly against his former side Wolfsburg: at no point during the game was a BVB victory in question. Here is a rundown of the Bundesliga top-match of matchday 32:

1st half:

Similar to other games this Saturday, one team got off to a brilliant start: Dortmund's top-striker Serhou Guirassy found the back of the net in the 3rd minute after an “accidental” assist by Julian Brandt.

Dortmund were able to dominate the game, but struggled to get into good scoring positions after the first goal.

Ralph Hasenhüttl, who is rumoured to leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season, couldn't get his team to use their strengths against Dortmund - BVB had full control over the game without extending their lead. Half time score: 1-0.

2nd half:

It was the 2nd half in which Dortmund made use of their dominance and scored more goals. Guirassy scored his 2nd of the match after a brilliant assist from Pascal Groß in minute 59.

After that it was Karim Adeyemi who stole the show in the Westfalen Stadion: he scored two goals in the 69th and in the 73rd minute, making it 4-0 to the Borussia. Final result: BVB 4-0 Wolfsburg.

BVB has managed to get the fans fully back on their side after some questionable performances during the season. If they can keep up this energy and also this level of performance, the qualification for the Champions League, once called “impossible”, is more than realistic!

Wolfsburg on the other side are in no man's land of the Bundesliga table; their season is pretty much over, since they can't qualify for any European competition anymore. At least they don't have to worry about the relegation battle, too.

Ralph Hasenhüttl's future at Wolfsburg, as adressed earlier, is more uncertain than ever before.
