Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has made it clear that Randal Kolo Muani does not fit the profile of the striker he is looking for. However, a recent report has revealed that there is one forward who the Spanish coach holds in high regard.

According to Fichajes, Enrique sees Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak as a key target for his project, praising the Swedish striker’s pace, technical ability, and finishing as a perfect fit for the offensive system he plans to implement at PSG.

Meanwhile, CaughtOffside reports that both Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Isak, but neither club is willing to meet Newcastle’s £115 million asking price for the 24-year-old.

Isak has had an impressive 2024-25 campaign, scoring 13 goals and adding four assists in 20 appearances across all competitions. Despite the growing interest, Newcastle is determined to keep hold of their star forward.

Eddie Howe believes Newcastle are in a similar position to last summer when they were “forced” to sell players to comply with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Regulations.

His remarks come as Arsenal show interest in in-form striker Alexander Isak, who found the net again in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham.

“The business logic is taking over from the football logic. There may be football decisions you’d like to make,” Howe said ahead of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Arsenal (h/t The Mirror).

“Nothing was bigger than the previous summer when we had to lose two highly promising young players – we were forced to, we had no choice. That is very much the business taking over from the football. I think we are still in that position.”

According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Isak is content to remain at Newcastle United during the January transfer window despite attracting interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

That said, the Magpies are reportedly mindful of the long-term challenge. Should they fail to secure Champions League qualification at the end of the season, retaining talents like Isak and Bruno Guimarães could prove significantly more difficult in the summer.

Meanwhile, Isak is under contract until 2028, and his current form continues to hit an upward trajectory; the Telegraph’s Luke Edwards reports that Newcastle have set a £150 million price tag for the attacker.
