Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has revealed that defender Trevoh Chalobah will miss the next 10 days through injury.
Chalobah limped out of the Blues' defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend leaving the west London club without four first-team defenders for their clash with Southampton on Tuesday.
Chelsea host the basement dwellers looking to turn their Premier League fortunes around, having won just twice domestically in 2025.
"He had a check yesterday and he will be around one week or 10 days," Maresca said.
"It's not an important injury so that is good, but it's a shame because we lose another player with the amount of injuries."
Maresca was then asked about whether goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen will remain at the club's number one following his key mistake in Saturday's loss at Villa Park.
"If we need to change players every time there is a mistake, we will change many players but no, nothing has changed," the coach concluded.
