Breakthrough Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri is under consideration for Thomas Tuchel's first squad as England manager, a new report has claimed.
Nwaneri, who does not turn 18 until later this month, has established himself as a key player for the Gunners following Bukayo Saka's injury, scoring eight goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Such form at a very young age has, unsurprisingly, caught Tuchel's eye and the Daily Mail state Nwaneri is being considered for a senior call-up next week.
Tuchel is said to have put in plenty of work identifying the best possible squad for his first international outing and the idea of including Nwaneri in the squad has not been ruled out despite the fact he will still be 17 when the squad is named.
Some argue that Nwaneri would benefit from being included in England's Under-21 squad for the first time, but there is serious consideration to promoting him straight beyond Lee Carsley's Young Lions.
Nwaneri could be joined in the England squad by close friend and Arsenal teammate Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has established himself as a regular starter at left-back under Mikel Arteta despite being a natural midfielder.
The pair's cases for inclusion could benefit from any injuries in the coming days, with Tuchel keeping a very close eye on a huge number of players ahead of finalising his squad.
"He's made very good connections with the players and he's been to a lot of games," England FA chief Mark Bullingham told the BBC. "He's energised and it's going really well.
"He's got 55 players on his longlist and makes sure that he's got a strong connection with them, that they know he's seen them."
