A hectic managerial merry-go-round is set to unfold in Serie A this summer, as all 10 teams in the top 10 of the table have had doubts, or worse, regarding their current head coaches. Here is a look at every case and a reminder of the potential moves during the off-season.

Despite leading Napoli to a Scudetto in his first season, Antonio Conte is set to leave the Partenopei in order to rejoin his former club Juventus, whom he coached to three consecutive Serie A titles between 2011 and 2014.

Conte will be in Rome with the celebrating Napoli squad on Tuesday. On top of a private audience with the Pope, Conte will also sit down for a formal meeting with club President Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna in order to discuss his future.

Tuesday’s reports claim that the decision has already been made, though, and that Conte is set to formalise his Napoli farewell.

Simone Inzaghi gave a blunt response when asked about his Nerazzurri future during his press conference on Monday, given that he has a fairly significant Champions League final coming up on Saturday.

The 2023-24 Scudetto winner has, however, been subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League, specifically from Al-Hilal, who are prepared to offer an enormous €30m-per-season contract in an attempt to lure him away from Serie A.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter and Inzaghi will sit down for talks at the end of the 2024-25 season to discuss their respective futures.

Atalanta and Gasperini

Atalanta and head coach Gian Piero Gasperini are also due to sit down and discuss their futures in the coming days.

Gasp has previously hinted that his time in Bergamo could be coming to an end, despite having a contract that runs until the summer of 2026. He has also been linked with a move to take over from Claudio Ranieri as head coach of Roma.

Juventus and Tudor

Juventus have already dismissed a head coach in Thiago Motta this season, and are set to make another managerial change with Igor Tudor set to leave the club at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Tudor was appointed on an initial interim contract, and the Bianconeri are not expected to offer him a more permanent role, with Antonio Conte primed to take over once his departure from Napoli is formalised.

Roma are another club who are due for a change in the dugout. Claudio Ranieri was also appointed on a short-term contract midway through the 2024-25 Serie A season, has now fulfilled his contractual obligations as head coach, and will now step into an advisory role.

Ranieri has also had a say on the next Roma head coach and has recently hinted that a decision has already been made.

Fiorentina and Palladino

Of all the coaches in the Serie A top 10, Palladino’s job is potentially the most secure as things stand. The coach put pen to paper on a new contract extension at the beginning of May, but it was not always smooth sailing during the 2024-25 season.

Reports in January claimed that Fiorentina held informal talks with Igor Tudor in the event that the club took the decision to sack Palladino after a worrying run of form over the winter period.

Lazio and Baroni

Monday’s reports claim that Lazio and head coach Marco Baroni will go their separate ways at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The 61-year-old took charge at the beginning of the campaign, and despite promising signs and various stages of the season, Lazio were eliminated from the Europa League semi-finals by Bodo/Glimt and collapsed at the end of the Serie A season, missing out on any European competition on the final day.

The latest updates claim that the relationship between the club and head coach has since become untenable.

Milan and Conceicao

Like Lazio, Milan have also taken the decision to go with a new head coach for the 2024-25 season after missing out on European football.

Sergio Conceicao was Milan’s second head coach of the 2024-25 season after the dismissal of Paulo Fonseca in December, but he has not done enough to earn the job on a more permanent basis, despite winning the Supercoppa Italiana in his first two games in charge.

Milan’s new sporting director, Igli Tare, will be tasked with finding a suitable replacement.

Bologna and Italiano

The decision to appoint Vincenzo Italiano as the successor to Thiago Motta at Bologna has gone down brilliantly, particularly after winning the Coppa Italia, securing Europa League qualification and putting up a respectable fight in the Serie A race.

However, with great success comes great admiration.

Despite recent reports that Italiano is set to sign a new contract, he has also been linked with a move to take over at Milan. And, reports on Monday evening claimed that there is still no formal agreement yet in place between Italiano and the Rossoblu.

Como and Fabregas

Como, who finished 10th place after promotion from Serie B last season, have had to put up a fight to keep hold of head coach Cesc Fabregas, who was linked with a move to take over from Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, before being linked with a move to take over at Roma.

Reports on Monday claimed that Como are prepared to offer around €5m per season in wages, the same as Roma, in order to convince Fabregas to stay amidst approaches from multiple different clubs.
