This is not the best time to be a Leicester City supporter. The east Midlands club are severely threatened with a predictable relegation back to the Championship. Money is in short supply on Filbert Way for numerous reasons. And, most importantly for some fans, the squad is devoid of many stars to entertain or keep them afloat. Most worryingly for us at this site is the culminating fact that LCFC is so badly run these days. Sad as it is to acknowledge.

But it could have all be so different for the Foxes if the right people were in place to oversee the side in the contemporary era. And I'm not just referring to under-pressure chairman and director of football duo Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha and Jon Rudkin. If the right manager was hired things would be better, even if still imperfect. It feels as though the current recruitment team is lacking too.

City once had possible scouting genius Steve Walsh. Incidentally, I'm not talking of beloved former Foxes captain, 'Walshy', but the other one known as 'Walsh Senior' among the Blue Army. The man with an incredible eye for talent famously brought Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kante to King Power Stadium. Leicester consequently won the Premier League title in mystifying manner.

When Leicester City tried to sign Ousmane Dembele and Steve Walsh eyed Erling Haaland

The Chorley-born man left LCFC not too long after their miracle moment, and before the Foxes lifted the FA Cup. Though his contributions at Leicester will always be remembered by many of us in the faithful. Besides Kante, Vardy and Mahrez, Walsh also had his sights set on an amazing pair soon after. Well, two footballers who were up-and-coming back then but eventually became world-class professionals respectively. Apparently he tried to sign Erling Haaland upon arrival at Everton in 2016. Along with suggesting Ousmane Dembele at City before departing in late July.
