Former Roma defender Cafu spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport prior to tonight’s kick-off at San Siro with Milan.

“There is no doubt that I expected more from both Milan and Roma this season,” he said. “However, there is still more than half a season to go, for me the Rossoneri can get back in the running, especially if they win tonight.”

“Both teams have an obligation to win, the standings say so: they cannot make any more mistakes.”

“De Rossi? Daniele had done well in taking over from Mourinho in the final months of last season. This time he was sent away after a few games. What’s the point? Anyone who knows about football has noticed De Rossi’s qualities: he’s young and will be a coach to keep an eye on in the future.”

“Roma has a squad that is worth more than its ranking, but when players have to deal with three different coaches in just a few months, it is normal for confusion to reign.”

“Now with Ranieri the situation is settling down a bit: he has recovered El Shaarawy, I really like Angeliño as a full-back and Pisilli is a really interesting young man.”
