Barcelona took on Valencia for the second time in less than a month last night, this time in the quarterfinal of the Copa del Rey.
With the 7-1 humbling of the opposition still fresh in their minds, the Catalans started where they left off and were ruthless once again from the get-go.
Ferran Torres opened the scoring in just the third minute and made it 2-0 less than 15 minutes later. A goal from Fermin Lopez and a hat-trick completing strike from Ferran Torres, meanwhile, made it 4-0 by the half-time break.
After the resting window, Lamine Yamal made it 5-0 on the night and sealed the win and a semifinal berth for Barcelona.

The star left-back got the scoresheet rolling on the night with his early assist to Ferran Torres in just the third minute of the game.
Kept up his high standard throughout and was a constant force to reckon with on the left with very little defensive cover to provide.
The young teenager continued as Barcelona’s leader in defence and once again dropped a performance beyond his years in terms of maturity.
Made a slight error in judgment and was dispossessed by Valencia in the first period to help create a goalscoring chance for them but recovered back and put an end to the buildup himself.
Chosen over Ronald Araujo for his ball-playing skills, Garcia showed exactly why the manager prioritises comfort on the ball over brute defending.
Was ever so comfortable playing out from the back and was crucial in the buildup.
Also did well to hold the offside trap and made a strong case to climb up Flick’s defensive pecking order.
A relatively silent night from Kounde who did not do much wrong but was not extravagant in either defence or offence.
Kept up his usual well-oiled partnership with Lamine Yamal and was integral for the buildup down the right flank.
Another silky smooth performance from the Canary Islander who had no trouble navigating the crevices and sharp turns Valencia forced him to make in the middle of the field.
Provided a heavenly assist for Fermin Lopez’s goal on the night, taking the Valencia defence out of the picture with a perfectly weighted pass.
A great performance from the captain who only continues to grow from strength to strength for Barcelona.
De Jong was reliable with his distribution, calm and defensively on point last night and did well to circulate the ball and keep the pressure on the visitors.

The youngster was not half as effective as he was the last time the two teams faced off, yet did well to orchestrate the play and contribute to the attacking buildup with tight passing sequences.
Scored a wonderful goal to make it 3-0 off a Pedri assist, taking the ball around the goalkeeper and finishing it with finesse.
The youngster was not as involved as usual but was not even required to step up as the team around him created sufficient goalscoring threat with ease.
Was very close to scoring the second goal against Valencia but had it saved and saw the rebound fall for Torres who converted.
Eventually had his goal with a shot from an unexpected angle after Dimitrievski fumbled his footing and allowed the ball to roll in.
The Brazilian superstar was sensational in the spaces in the final third, finding the right passing outlets and creating a threat with his mere movements.
Played a crucial role in the buildup to both the team’s second and fourth goals, even racking up an assist for the latter as he showed great finesse with his combination play.
