Marcus Thuram is expecting tomorrow’s Serie A clash between Napoli and Inter Milan to be “hugely important.”
The Nerazzurri striker spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInter1908. He also called Inter’s title push his “motivation.”
Inter Milan travel to Naples to take on Napoli tomorrow.
There is already the air of a potential title-decider to the match.
Tomorrow’s clash at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona pits the teams first and second in the Serie A table against each other directly.
Inter go into the match one point ahead of Napoli. They overtook the Partenopei last weekend, beating Genoa whilst their title rivals suffered a surprise loss away to Como.
And Inter have another boost to their momentum in the form of a key player returning.
Striker Marcus Thuram will reportedly start the match after shaking off an ankle knock. That injury had kept him out of Inter’s last couple matches.
As far as whether he expects tomorrow’s match to be decisive, Marcus Thuram admitted “I don’t know.”
“There are still a lot of matches left to go,” he continued.

“But it will be a head-to-head match directly between first and second in the table. It will be hugely important.”
Meanwhile, Thuram gave his thoughts on Inter’s bitter Derby d’Italia loss to Juventus earlier this month.
“We let a great chance to take three points pass us by,” the Frenchman said. “Against an opponent we know well.”
“We wanted to win. But we didn’t.”
“We have to pick ourselves back up, start again, work, and keep trying to win matches,” Thuram insisted.
Thuram also said that the immediate impact that his national teammate Randal Kolo Muani has made at Juventus isn’t surprising to him.”
“Randal is a top player,” he said. “We saw that when he was at Frankfurt.”
“Then at PSG he had some difficulties with the coach. But that doesn’t change the quality that he has.”
“He’s just doing what he knows how to do at Juventus,” Thuram added.
Meanwhile, of his most emotional goals for Inter, Thuram said “The ones I scored against Milan last season.”
And Thuram admitted that the Serie A title ambitions “are always with me.”
“It motivates me to work, and to win matches.”
The 27-year-old said that the Serie A title “is something I want to relive with Inter.”
