Just as it looked like the Fikayo Tomori to Juventus rumours had died down, they have apparently come back in with an offer to AC Milan.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Thiago Motta wants cover for Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal who are out for the season. Cristiano Giuntoli has been working for some time to identify the right profiles, but one of the options has become complicated.
Juve have been working on a deal for Ronald Araujo of Barcelona, but Inigo Martinez’s injury has upset the balance and put the Uruguayan defender back at the centre of their plans, so the pursuit is definitely more uphill now.
Thus, the Tomori option is being considered again and Saturday’s game at the Allianz Stadium could provide a chance to talk. Juventus seem willing to offer a €5m loan plus an obligation to buy at €20m, then bonuses to take the total of €30m.
It’s a figure that could make the Rossoneri give in but the Bianconeri are also working on alternatives, such as David Hancko of Feyenoord. There could be some surprises late in the window, yet what might complicate things further is Malick Thiaw’s injury during the Como game.
