While waiting for news on the sporting director and head coach, AC Milan are looking at potential signings and Miguel Gutierrez is a target.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), there will be a lot of talk about sales in the coming weeks, especially without Champions League football. However, Milan will also have to think about incomings, starting with a left-back in case Theo Hernandez leaves.
So, while waiting for the arrival of the new director, the scouting area are looking at full-backs. Nuno Tavares (Lazio) and Maxim De Cuyper (Bruges) have been joined by Miguel Gutierrez in the list of candidates.
Gutierrez currently plays for Girona, but came through the Real Madrid youth academy. He has been at the Catalan side since 2022-23, but although he has a €35m release clause, Real has maintained a buy-back option for a much lower figure, around €9m by June 2026.
His agency, Wasserman, have always floated the idea of a return to Los Blancos. In essence, the player is owned by Girona, but his future will also be decided by Real Madrid.
Milan have already concluded similar deals with Real in the past (like Brahim Diaz and Alex Jimenez) are studying the possibility of setting up a new operation in the summer. Gutierrez won gold with Spain at the 2024 Olympics and is also liked by Napoli and Juventus.
