AC Milan had a scout present at the game between Olympiacos and Bodo-Glimt in the Europa League to watch two players in particular, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan wanted to watch two most interesting young talents at Olympiacos – Christos Mouzakitis and Charalampos Kostoulas – up close. They are two of the key players of the team that beat Ignazio Abate’s Milan in the Youth League final a year ago.

Mouzakitis is a left-footed midfielder born on Christmas Day 2006. He has technique and vision that goes beyond his years, accompanied by a child-like face that hides a young man who is not afraid to play against adults.

This season he has already made 30 appearances in the first team (and the Greek league is not that easy), while in the Europa League he was a starter against Porto, Braga, Rangers and others. That day in April 2024 (the Youth League final) against Milan, he scored his first goal.

Kostoulas is a striker born in 2007 who shoots well with his right foot and plays with a certain elegance. They say he resembles Batistuta – they call him Babis, hence the nickname Babistuta – but he seems more in the Roberto Firmino mould given the spaces he takes up.

Active, energetic, gritty, Kostoulas has always played with players two or three years older than him and was the youngest ever to play and score at a pro level with Olympiacos. He has not yet turned 18 and has already scored six goals in the Greek league and played eight times in the Europa.

Last week, against Bodo, he was not available but Milan have already taken plenty of notes in recent months. Can both be signed? It will not be easy because Olympiacos are a tough club to buy from and there is talk of valuations of €20m for each.

Many European teams are following them closely and in England articles have been written on Arsenal, Aston Villa and other teams with big spending power following them. Milan already know that, if they want them, they will have to invest. The next sporting director will decide.
