GdS: Predicted XIs for Roma vs. Milan – changes at wing-back and up front

AC Milan take on Roma in their final away game of the 2024-25 season, hoping to right the Stadio Olimpico wrongs of a few days ago.
Indeed, Milan played at the same stadium on Wednesday night in the Coppa Italia final and saw their Europa League dream go up in smoke, losing 1-0 to Bologna. Tonight’s game is an even harder one on paper arguably, with Roma still in the top four hunt.
In terms of absences, Theo Hernandez (thigh) and Kyle Walker (illness) will both miss the game. Warren Bondo and Samuel Chukwueze are not expected to make the trip too, which hurts the depth available.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mike Maignan will be in goal with Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic as the three-man defence, with the same 3-4-3 system from the past few games being used.
Yunus Musah will fill in at right wing-back with Alex Jimenez switching to the left side. Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana will be the midfield double pivot.
Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao are expected to keep their places in the attack, operating either side of Santiago Gimenez who should be preferred to Luka Jovic.
Predicted Milan XI (3-4-3): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Musah, Fofana, Reijnders, Jimenez; Pulisic, Gimenez, Leao.
Predicted Roma XI (3-4-1-2): Svilar; Çelik, Mancini, Ndicka; Saelemaekers, Cristante, Koné, Angeliño; Soulé; Baldanzi, Shomurodov.
