GdS: Theo Hernandez reports for France duty despite calf problem – the latest

Theo Hernandez has been called up by France for the March internationals, but he sustained a physical issue during the Como win.
Theo is certainly not having the best season in terms of performance levels, but he continues to be a starter under Sergio Conceicao, perhaps due to the lack of a proper alternative in the squad.
The Frenchman played the opening 45 minutes of the game against Como on Saturday night, yet he was replaced by Alex Jimenez at the break in what many saw as an eyebrow-raising change.
As today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPress), the change was actually a forced one. Theo suffered a calf problem and wanted to come off, which is why Jimenez replaced him at left-back.
Nevertheless, the former Real Madrid man decided to report for international duty after the call-up from France, and his condition will be evaluated in the next few days.
It is possible that Didier Deschamps will not risk him or that he will manage his minutes in the two legs against Croatia, in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage.
As a reminder, Milan’s first two matches after the break will be against Napoli away from home and against Inter in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
