With Italy set to part-host the 2032 European Championship, AC Milan will hope that their stadium will be selected to hold some of the games, and this seems likely.
Despite the San Siro situation lacking clarity, it has remained a big idea for the FIGC to hold some of the games there. In fact, it seems that the stadium is one of the favourites.
At present, it is one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, let alone Italy, so it should be right at the top of the list for host stadiums. However, there are works planned over the next few years, and although the stadium should be ready for 2030 there could be delays, as revealed earlier today.
Considering the FIGC want to have the stadium for the tournament though, this could benefit Milan and Inter massively, and it could have a positive weight on the situation.
Earlier today, Gabriele Gravina spoke about the desire to hold games at San Siro when speaking to La Stampa and Milan News relayed the idea.
“They [Milan, Turin and Rome] are in pole, they only require some reflections. Then there is the strong candidature of Florence where work has begun. Palermo is particularly active, Cagliari is almost ready, and in Bologna, there is great enthusiasm as in Udine or Bari. The five stadiums must be the most beautiful in Italy.”
