FC Barcelona have been crowned the La Liga 2024-25 champions as their last night’s win over RCD Espanyol takes them 7 points clear of the second-placed Real Madrid with only 6 points left to play for in the league.

After their full year of hard work, this was a time for the Blaugranes to celebrate, and they did so inside the locker room last night, and will again be celebrating in the streets soon.

Meanwhile, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, Hansi Flick also expressed his delight and happiness on winning the La Liga title as he addressed the press conference after the game.

The German tactician started by praising the team and the environment surrounding the locker room:

“The level has been good, but we have the potential for more… I feel like we’re a family, the club is doing very well, with passion, attitude, and mentality.

This has helped me a lot to achieve my goals, and of course, the atmosphere is fantastic—everyone takes care of each other, and that, in short, is perhaps what makes it unique. I had never experienced that before. I’m very proud of the team, a team where everyone works hard.”

The Barcelona coach highlighted how his team got over the slump they experienced in November and December:

“It’s always very positive to be mentally strong. The things we trained after the break helped us a lot, and also winning the Super Cup. This is what helped us.”

Further commenting on this matter, Hansi Flick went on to say:

“The players reached their best level, like Frenkie and others, and it’s great to see how they improved… everything depends on attitude, and we always think positively. We have a philosophy about how we want to attack—something different—but we’ve adapted very well, and at Barça you have to win titles.”

The German trainer admitted that he was not feeling very good after the defeat to Inter Milan:

“I suffered a bit after the semifinal in Milan… now the players, the club, and the fans are happy.”

He also took this opportunity to praise the effort made by Espanyol tonight:

“Espanyol defended very well; they played in a way that was dangerous for us—their transitions were very threatening… keeping a clean sheet is important. in the second half, we played faster.”

When asked why the team did not celebrate on the pitch, the Blaugrana coach explained:

“I told the players that I’m aware of what happened two years ago. We wanted to leave the pitch and celebrate inside.”

Talking about celebrations, Hansi Flick was already looking forward to the parade:

“I hope everyone enjoys the parade. I’m really looking forward to it and I will enjoy it. I’m very grateful for how the people have treated us. It will be my first one here — I had one after the 2014 World Cup with Germany.”

Following such a hectic season, Flick believed it was important that his players get to rest for a while:

“It’s time to celebrate — we’ll analyze things ahead of next season later. The players will have five or six weeks off, and it’s important to rest.”

The one thing he wanted to take from this season was the wins in El Clasicos:

“What I take with me are the four matches against Madrid.”

On the other hand, the German also revealed the toughest decision he had to make:

“When ‘Tek’ became number one, it was tough for Iñaki.”

Hansi Flick also remembers the late Dr. Minarro at this moment:

“Emotionally, the fact that Carles (doctor Miñarro) is no longer with us… We always think of him, and he has a place in our hearts. He was a very important person.”

Lastly, the Barcelona coach also commented on Lamine Yamal’s goal:

“He scored a goal like that in the warm-up and also in training — he practices it during and after the sessions. It was fabulous… the most important thing is that the players know how to work for each other. This is Barça’s league.”

There is no doubt that winning this league title has been a great achievement for Hansi Flick and the team. With the league title wrapped, the Catalans do not have any other trophies to compete for this season. Hopefully, the team will return with the same spirit and enjoy a similar level of success next season.
