Harvey Elliott could leave Liverpool this summer with enquiries made into the midfielder’s availability.

Elliott has struggled to break into Arne Slot’s plans and has started just two games in the Premier League this season, each of which have come after title success was secured.

The 22-year-old has insisted previously that he wants to fight for his place, but recent comments suggest he could consider his options amid a desire for first-team football. Sky Sports are reporting that Elliott could be allowed to leave this summer with several enquiries made.

Wolves, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are understood to be admirers of Elliott, who has five goals and three assists in all competitions this season despite limited involvement.

Following Liverpool’s defeat at Brighton on Monday night, Elliott hinted he may have to leave the club to continue his development.

“I think I’ve [shown what I can do] this season,” Elliott said.

“It’s been hard with how much I’ve played. I’ve tried as hard as I could and whatever happens, happens. It’s football at the end of the day and in my opinion, I just need to do what’s best for my career.”

According to the report, Liverpool ‘would not stand in his way’ if a suitable offers comes in this summer. Elliott joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2019 and became the club’s youngest-ever starter when making his debut at 16 years and 174 days.

He has since made 146 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals, but has seen his role reduced under Arne Slot this season.
