An insight into the circumstances which would need to come into play for Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham to completely avoid an upcoming La Liga suspension has this evening been provided.

Midfielder Bellingham was of course involved in a headline-grabbing incident on Saturday afternoon.

As much came during Real Madrid’s meeting with Osasuna.

En route to a 1-1 draw at El Sadar, the 21-year-old was given his marching orders late in the first-half.

This came owing to a straight red card, shown to Bellingham for comments directed at referee Jose Munuera.

As per the notes in Munuera’s post-match report, he sent the England international for an early bath for aiming the insult ‘f**k you’ in his direction.

Bellingham for his part is adamant that he in fact said ‘f**k off’, as an exclamation of frustration rather than a direct insult.

And, as per a report from Relevo, should the TV cameras at El Sadar confirm the player’s side of events, he could yet escape without punishment.

Citing an incident involving Mason Greenwood last season, the Spanish outlet suggest that, in the case of the referee’s report not reflecting reality, it is entirely possible that Bellingham will avoid a ban.

For the time being, though, Real Madrid have little choice but to cross their fingers, and wait.
