Barcelona may have beaten Real Madrid, but behind the celebrations, there is growing frustration inside the club. In fact, according to SPORT, the win has not stopped strong feelings of anger over the way the game was officiated.

People at the club feel that this sort of refereeing simply can not go on. Furthermore, internally, there is a belief that action must be taken soon to avoid more damage.

Even though the dressing room was full of joy, many at the club could not ignore what happened on the pitch.

Barcelona officials believe referee Hernandez Hernandez made some very poor calls, and they are not staying quiet about it. For them, this match was the final straw after a long series of calls that seem to favour Real Madrid.

Refereeing decisions leave Barça outraged

The key moments in the match are still fresh in the minds of those at the club. There was a possible offside on Kylian Mbappe in the move that led to the 0-1 penalty. Then came the clear foul on Lamine Yamal just before Real Madrid’s second goal.

But what truly made Barcelona’s staff furious was the handball by Aurelien Tchouameni, which was reviewed on the monitor but still not given as a penalty.

Barcelona strongly believe that Real Madrid’s ongoing pressure campaign on referees has been working. They think it has been going on for months and that it is beginning to shape how decisions are made during matches.

Barcelona say enough

It is said that while Barça are not planning to file a formal complaint, they also won’t let the issue be swept under the rug.

The club does not want the negativity to take away from the joy of winning their fourth Clasico of the season. Still, they plan to speak to the relevant football authorities and demand answers.

Winning La Liga remains the main goal, but Barcelona want to make it clear that they have had enough of these types of referee performances. The club feels that speaking up is the only way to bring back fairness to Spanish football.
