Injury update: Hickey to feature in squad for Wolves clash | OneFootball

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that defender Aaron Hickey will be in the Bees squad for the trip to Wolves in the final game of the season on Sunday.

The defender hasn’t made a first-team appearance since October 2023 due to a hamstring injury and, having scored for Brentford B as they beat Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s in the Robert Rowan Invitational last week, will make his return to a Premier League squad for the first time in 18 months.

"The team's looking good. Everyone that was available for the last game is available again," said Frank.

"One very positive thing - it's taken a while but we've got there in the end - Aaron Hickey will be involved in the squad on Sunday.

"I'm very pleased for him, he's worked very hard, and this is a little bonus for him. He can then go into the summer, work hard, and come flying back into next season."

Frank also spoke about Ben Mee, who will leave the club once his contract expires on 30 June and won't travel to Molineux this weekend.

"One person who won't be in the squad is Ben Mee. We gave a nice send-off to him after the Fulham game," the Bees boss explained.

"We said a few nice words to him about what he has contributed over the last three years.

"It's been a pleasure to work with him, and I wish him and his family all the best."

Midfielder Vitaly Janelt will not feature on Sunday, having had surgery to address an issue in his heel.

Fábio Carvalho (shoulder) is also unlikely to play, while Josh Dasilva (knee) remains sidelined.
