Roma are close to a new strategic choice in its management: the appointment of the next CEO, a key figure who could bring a new balance to the management of the club.

After the exit of Pietro Berardi and Lina Souloukou, the Friedkin family seems to be aiming for an “Italian” solution, distancing itself from the more traditional choices of recent years.

At the moment, Alessandro Antonello, current CEO of Inter’s corporate area, appears to be ahead, writes Il Tempo.

Last Thursday, Antonello was seen in Rome, a signal that fuels rumors of an imminent agreement.

Dan Friedkin has already had the opportunity to meet Antonello, thanks to meetings with the Eca (European Club Association), and this contact seems to have influenced the vision of the Giallorossi president.

Antonello’s profile is considered suitable for the future of Roma, representing a concrete alternative to previous experiences.

The choice, in fact, would respond to a need for Italian managerial skills, with internal knowledge of local football, considered essential to give stability to the club.

Despite Antonello’s advantage, the Friedkins do not seem inclined to make a hasty decision.

The modus operandi of the Texan ownership is marked by maximum discretion and caution, preferring to keep the selection process confidential until the very end.

The precedents, moreover, show how the Friedkin family has avoided names that are too publicly exposed, choosing figures capable of working away from the spotlight.

This caution leaves open the possibility of surprises and explains the secrecy maintained on the evaluations in progress.

Among the alternatives, Giovanni Carnevali has been in contact with the Giallorossi top brass, but his name seems to have lost ground. The ownership has not found in Carnevali the vision and strategic characteristics that it is looking for for the future of Roma, thus keeping open the search for a profile with international experience and vision, but at the same time a deep knowledge of the Italian football context.
