Antonello is a figure known to Roma’s owners, the Friedkin Group.

Since 2021, Antonello has been a member of the European Club Association (ECA) and maintains close relations with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who have been supported by the Friedkins since the club’s acquisition.

Currently CEO of Inter, Antonello exclusively manages the company’s corporate area.

However, with the entry of the Oaktree fund, his influence at Inter has diminished, opening the door to a possible transfer to Roma, where he could take on a broader leadership role.

A graduate in Economics and Finance from the University of Bergamo, Antonello began his sports career in 2011 as financial director of Puma Italy, before joining Inter in 2015, climbing the ranks over the years.

Although Antonello is at the top of the Friedkin Group’s preferences, the American ownership is known for its unpredictable moves.

Two other potential candidates include Giovanni Carnevali, currently at Sassuolo, and Claudio Fenucci, of Bologna.

Carnevali has received positive signals and could accept a transfer, while Fenucci is less inclined to leave his club immediately.

The appointment of Antonello as CEO of Roma would represent a significant step for the club, aiming to consolidate the financial and strategic structure under the expert guidance of an established professional in the world of European football.
