The stadium saga continues as Milan and Inter are now evaluating the option of building a stadium in San Siro again. As stated by the Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta, he’s confident that the bureaucratic issues can be overcome.

Milan have made great progress in San Donato, as highlighted by a recent convening of the council there, but the San Siro project remains alive. Of course, in that scenario, the Rossoneri and Inter would build a stadium together.

Speaking on the sidelines of a recent event, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta was asked about the recent developments with the San Siro project. He made it clear that the willingness is there to build a stadium, simply waiting for the political process to be sped up.

“The stadium represents a minimum investment of one billion. We must eliminate many useless steps to be faced. Milan and Inter have the will to build the stadium, the last meetings have been about the San Siro land. The important thing is to overcome the bureaucratic difficulties. The mayor is working on it and I am confident that the problem can be solved,” he stated as cited by Calcio e Finanza.

It should be noted that none of the clubs have an obligation to continue with the San Siro project, should they decide to focus on Rozzano and San Donato respectively. According to the latest reports, the clubs would have to pay over €250m to buy the stadium and its land.
