Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to miss Young Boys clash, aiming for return against Juventus | OneFootball

Following the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, Inter central midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been ruled out of the Milanese club’s upcoming  Champions League fixture in the mid-week against Young Boys.

The Turkish international was subbed off against the capital club in exchange for Davide Fratessi after having endured extreme discomfort, causing a great deal of concern for Simone Inzaghi.

As of today, the holding midfielder underwent a series of medical assessments, which revealed that Hakan has suffered an elongation if the abductors of the left thigh.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 30-year-old central midfielder will miss the Champions League fixture Wednesday evening in Bern, with the hopes of recovering in time to face Juventus Sunday evening at the San Siro.

The former Lazio coach finds himself in an injury crisis as Francesco Acerbi is also ruled out of the clash against the Swiss outfits after suffering a knee injury against the Giallorossi.

Furthermore, Kristjan Asllani has still not fully healed after having been ruled out from the Roma clash due to a muscular issue whilst on international duty, leaving coach Inzaghi without three key players in a pivotal period of the season.

However, the Italian tactician has been granted a form of a boost within the central area of the pitch as Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski is deemed available for the trip to Switzerland after having recuperated from his most recent injury, forcing him to not take part in the match-up at the capital city.
