Inter Milan have added Bologna defenders Sam Beukema and Jhon Lucumi to their shortlist of targets for a summer defensive overhaul.

This according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com. They report that the Nerazzurri will not move for either of the two Rossoblu players this month, but are very much eyeing them up as summer targets.

Inter are starting to think about the future of their backline.

At the moment, the Nerazzurri have two starting options in the centre of the back three. These are Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.

That duo will be 37 and 33 respectively next month, however.

Moreover, Acerbi in particular has really started to show signs of physical decline. The former Lazio and Sassuolo defender has struggled with a nagging thigh problem this season.

The fact that Acerbi’s injury woes have dragged on for as long as they have already has even led to some rumours that Inter could bolster their defensive depth as early as this month.

However, according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com, the Nerazzurri have no intention of signing a defender in the last few days of the January transfer window.

Inter’s plan is to stick with what they already have for the rest of the season.

However, the summer will undoubtedly be a different story.

Inter are certainly going to sign at least one defender next summer.

And according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com, there are two players at Bologna who the Nerazzurri are keeping a close eye on.

One would be 26-year-old Dutch international Sam Beukema. And another is 26-year-old Colombian international Jhon Lucumi.
