Inter Milan Attack Nonexistent Vs PSG – Lautaro & Thuram Isolated, No Shots On Target Until 75th Minute

Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram were isolated and had no impact as Inter Milan’s attack was “nonexistent” against PSG.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
It would be an understatement to say that Inter Milan struggle to cope with Paris Saint-Germain yesterday.
Quite simply the Nerazzurri failed to get up the pitch for much of the first half. And then when they did start to throw caution to the wind, they looked toothless as they approached the PSG penalty area.

As the Gazzetta note, Inter did not even muster a shot on target against Paris Saint-Germain until the 75th minute.
And it was clear to see why that was the case, watching the performances from the Nerazzurri’s two forwards.
In the case of Inter captain Lautaro Martinez, the Argentine attempted to drop back at times. But unlike his PSG opposite number Ousmane Dembele, his efforts to add numbers to midfield bore little fruit.
Meanwhile, Martinez did attempt to win some physical challenges with PSG defender Willian Pacho. But for all his effort and grit, the Argentine never turned any of these into dangerous situations.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram did have one halfway dangerous chance in the second half. But that was hardly enough, particularly considering that he never really held onto the ball or got Inter into the PSG final third.
