Simone Inzaghi has given the Inter Milan squad the evening off ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A match against Venezia.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri squad have been allowed to spend time with their families rather than staying at the training ground.
Inter face Venezia in Serie A tomorrow.
The Nerazzurri host the newly-promoted Lagunari at the Sam Siro in the matchday eleven clash.
And Inter will not be underestimating the difficulty of tomorrow’s fixture.
Venezia may be struggling in their bid to keep themselves in Serie A in their first campaign back in the top flight. They remain in the bottom three of the league table.
However, like Inter, Venezia are coming into tomorrow’s match off the back of a league win.
Eusebio Di Francesco’s team got a 3-2 win over Udinese in a Serie A thriller in midweek. They took three precious points in their fight for survival, and plenty of confidence and momentum.
Inter will know full well that Venezia have all the motivation in the world to try and get a shock result tomorrow.
For Inter, this will be the fifth match since the return from the October international break just a couple weeks ago.
The Nerazzurri faced Empoli away in Serie A just Wednesday evening.
And moveover, Inter have two more huge matches to come. They face Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday, and then league leaders Napoli in Serie A next weekend.
Therefore, managing energy and getting rest when it’s possible will be paramount for Inter.
As such, Sky reports, Inzaghi has decided to allow the players to return home after today’s training session.
There will be no team “retreat” at the training centre to prepare for tomorrow’s match.
