Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer admits he will never forget tonight’s breathtaking Champions League victory against Barcelona.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the Swiss veteran addressed his ‘Man of the Match’ performance at San Siro.
One of the most spectacular semi-final ties in Champions League history saw Inter leave Barcelona in their wake.
Davide Frattesi soaked up the limelight as Inter’s hero with an extra-time winner to book their tickets to Munich.
However, all that would’ve been impossible had it not been for Yann Sommer.
Indeed, even at 36, the former Bayern Munich goalkeeper proved he is still an absolute world-class.
Sommer pulled off numerous outstanding saves throughout the match to keep the Nerazzurri afloat.
Eventually, his fabulous save to thwart Lamine Yamal in extra time decided an enthralling contest in Lombardy.
Understandably proud of himself, Sommer addressed the media after the match.

“I’m very happy, we played an incredible match,” Sommer said.
Asked to single out one save tonight, Sommer had no doubt.
Indeed, he flew through the air to fingertip Yamal’s curling effort into a corner. And that’s ultimately what sealed the victory for Inter.
“Which save will I remember? The last one on Lamine Yamal. He’s a fantastic player. I was happy it didn’t go in.
“Many teams get tired after conceding to make it 3-2, but we managed to come back.”
Despite conceding three goals, Sommer won the flattering ‘Man of the Match’ award.
That perhaps best illustrates his pivotal role in keeping Inter’s hopes alive with a string of crucial saves.
Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries delivered another phenomenal showing, providing two assists on either side of halftime.
However, this victory goes far beyond individuals.
It was a team win, and it can make every Inter fan proud of this collective display of resilience and character.
