Inter Milan are plotting a move for PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, as Josep Martinez has yet to impress Simone Inzaghi.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Italian international is the player want as their new long-term keeper.
Inter currently have Yann Sommer as their first-choice goalkeeper.
The Swiss has held down that role well enough season. However, he is 36 years of age, and can hardly remain the first-choice for years to come.
Last summer, Inter signed Josep Martinez from Genoa.
The Spaniard was a player the Nerazzurri earmarked as a capable long-term replacement for Sommer.
So far, however, Martinez has hardly won the trust of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi, however.
The 26-year-old has made a grand total of one start this season. That came in the Copa Italia against Udinese in December.
Therefore, Tuttosport reports, Inter are ready to look elsewhere for a new long-term keeper.
And the newspaper anticipate that it is a very big name who tops Inter’s list of target.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is currently under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until the end of June 2026.
However, Donnarumma has not always been first-choice in the French capital under Luis Enrique.
Therefore, Inter are hoping that they can tempt the Italian international away.
