Goran Pandev feels that Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram are “the best striker duo in Serie A.”

The former Nerazzurri, Lazio, and Napoli striker also spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also argued that Inter are in better form than Napoli heading into Saturday’s match.

Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram have been Inter’s first-choice strike pair for a couple years now.

Thuram joined Inter in the summer of 2023. And he instantly clicked with Martinez.

Prior to Thuram’s arrival, Martinez had formed formidable strike partnerships with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko, among others.

One of Martinez’s most positive qualities has been his ability to link up with many different strikers with different profiles.

And in some ways, the Argentine has found the perfect striker partner in Thuram.

The two forwards are not so much perfect and complementary foils as they are two extremely versatile players who can interchange freely.

Former Inter Milan striker Goran Pandev argued that “The duo if Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram is the best in Serie A.”

Pandev commented that Thuram “is having a great season.”

“Having him available on Saturday will be vital for Inter. Because he gives them a threat in behind.”

“He’s good at holding up the ball,” Goran Pandev continued. “And he also does very well in pressing along with Lautaro.”

And of Inter’s top-of-the-table Serie A clash with Napoli this weekend, Pandev said that “In my opinion Inter are better.”

“Over the last month, Napoli have had a few issues. Between the negative results and injuries.”

“Inter were already the favourites to win the Scudetto at the start of the season,” Pandev argued. “But Conte’s team are having a great season.”

“If they’re to take the three points on Ssaturday, they’re the favourites to finish top of the table.”

‘But the match at the Maradona won’t be decisive,” Pandev added. “Because we know that Atalanta are also in it, and they don’t have any cup competitions.”

“I expect an open match,” said Pandev. “Inter are used to the pressure.”

“Let’s hope the best team wins,” he added.
