AC Milan director Geoffrey Moncada has stated the club are very happy with Joao Felix and will see what happens in the summer.

Felix joined Chelsea last summer in a deal worth £45m from Atletico Madrid and signed a seven year contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old was signed as back-up to Cole Palmer in the number ten position, but only started three Premier League games during the first half of the season.

However, after just six months and seven goals in all competitions the Portugal international decided he wanted a new challenge and more regular minutes.

Felix completed a deadline day loan move to Italian giants AC Milan and made a great start as he scored on his debut.

The attacker has already stated he would like to remain at the Serie A outfit beyond the summer if it was possible, but he’s currently due to return to Chelsea in time for the Club World Cup.

Chelsea will want Felix to do well at Milan so that his value goes up and potential new suitors are attracted, but it remains unclear how the Blues see his long term future at the club.

Milan technical director Moncada has had his say on Felix and insisted the club are very happy with him, but he was coy about the chances of making the deal permanent.

“We were lacking creativity in the squad, so we thought of Joao Felix, who already knew the coach,” he said as cited on X.com.

“It also depends on him and us, we’ll see in the summer how things are going. He has brought something different to the squad and we’re very happy with him.”

It’s believed city rivals Inter could also table a bid for Felix in the summer, but judging by his comments it feels like the Portuguese doesn’t want to be in west London next season.
