Jan 8 Columbus Crew Sign Lassi Lappalainen Via Free Agency | OneFootball

The Columbus Crew have signed free agent wide player Lassi Lappalainen ahead of the 2025 season. Lappalainen has been with CF Montreal since the 2019 MLS season where he played a total of 117 games while recording 27 goal contributions. His role shifted a ton as turnover within that organization happened as well. He went from more of a traditional winger into a converted wingback in more recent seasons. Lappalainen now returns to play under Wilfried Nancy who he played under during the 2021 MLS season.

The two time Canadian Championship winner now heads to his second MLS club of his career at 26 years old. This is a type of move that I feel could revitalize the career of Lappalainen and even get him back into the Finland National Team picture once again. Good fit for the free agent!
