Joao Felix is to undergo a medical with Serie A giants AC Milan after they struck a loan agreement with Chelsea.
The 25-year-old signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge last summer, joining from Atletico Madrid for a fee of £42m plus £4.3m in add-ons after previously enjoying a five-month loan spell in west London in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
But after competing for minutes with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer, Felix has found himself sidelined under Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, only playing a significant role in the club's Conference League group stage campaign.
Felix has been a target for Serie A giants Milan throughout the January transfer window, and negotiations between the two clubs began to ramp up at the weekend.
Italian publication Gianluca Di Marzio were one of many publications to report that Felix's loan switch is now agreed, with an understanding between the two clubs seeing Milan agree to cover Felix's full wage packet for the remainder of the season.
The Serie A giants, who completed the signing of Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez earlier on deadline day, will also pay Chelsea an additional loan fee in the region of €5.5m (£4.5m).
With Chelsea in action on deadline day, Felix will now not be part of the matchday squad to face West Ham United.
Felix will take up Chelsea's final overseas loan spot once Deivid Washington and Carney Chukwuemeka complete their moves to Santos and Borussia Dortmund respectively, meaning any more loan exits will have to be domestic.
Centre-back Aaron Anselmino was negotiating with Marseille but has seen those talks break down as a result, while Axel Disasi's hopes of leaving Chelsea now rest on Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa coming back to the negotiating table after backing away from loan talks.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Saint-Etienne midfielder Mathis Amougou. The 19-year-old is expected to move to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth around €15m (£12.5m).
