Juventus Renew Their Confidence in Under Fire Giuntoli

Juventus are plotting some changes to their front office but not a complete revolution, and, despite some chatter, Cristiano Giuntoli is set to stay at the helm.
CEO Maurizio Scanavino addressed the situation during a charity event organized by Serie A (via Mediaset).
“We’ll be competitive even without the Champions League because, when healthy, the roster is very strong and proved it when all our players were available. Therefore, we’ll restart from this core, which is very young and has grown in terms of experience this year. We’ll make some select investments. Giuntoli has been working on the transfer market for some time. We’re examining the options for the future together.”
There’ll be an internal shake-up, but not at the very top. Francesco Calvo, who’s the managing director of revenue and institutional relations, will leave to become Aston Villa’s CEO, Sky informs. He had two separate stints at the club from 2011 to 2018 and then after returning in 2022.
Giorgio Chiellini is likely to have more say in the technical decisions going forward. The Bianconeri are considering hiring another director to help out, Tuttosport informs. They are eyeing Frederic Massara, who’s at Rennes after some years at Milan, and Matteo Tognozzi, a long-serving scout who had departed for an apical position at Granada but left in February.
He’s made his mistakes, but Rome wasn’t built in a day, and most of last summer’s choices were defensible at the time. Axing him quickly after bending over backwards to lure him would be a poor look. Plus, they’d be hard-pressed to find a more accomplished exec.
