La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday been dealt something of a blow on the transfer front.

This comes amid the revelation that Espanyol star Joan García is not overly convinced of the prospect of making the move to the Camp Nou this summer.

Shot-stopper Joan’s name has emerged as a prominent one in the headlines at Barcelona over recent days.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that Deco and the Blaugrana brass have earmarked the 24-year-old as a leading summer transfer target.

Joan, for his part, is fresh off a spectacular season between the posts at Espanyol, giving rise to interest in his services from across the continent.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, the Spaniard appears to favour a move to another such club, over Barcelona.

As per a report from transfer insider Matteo Moretto:

‘Joan García isn’t keen on joining Barça and has reportedly told Espanyol this in the last few hours. He prefers to go to the Premier League.’
