Barcelona are edging closer to finalising the sale of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras, with the deal expected to bring in €25 million for 80% of the player’s economic rights.

According to SPORT, the transfer is progressing well, with only a few details left to be ironed out before it can be officially completed.

The groundwork for this agreement has been carefully laid out, primarily orchestrated by Roque’s agent, Andre Cury.

Having recently visited Barcelona and Seville, Cury is now in Sao Paulo, actively working to ensure that all parties involved reach a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Roque has already reached an understanding with Palmeiras, where he is set to become a key figure in their squad. The Brazilian club sees him as a crucial addition and is prepared to make him the highest-paid player in their team.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have secured a verbal agreement with Palmeiras that aligns with their financial strategy, ensuring they do not record a loss on Roque’s sale.

If everything goes according to plan, the young forward will depart for €25 million, with Barcelona retaining 20% of his future economic rights.

Other key points

One of the key points still under discussion is the payment structure. Barcelona have requested that the entire sum be settled before June 30 so that the transaction can be included in the current financial year.

Palmeiras, however, need to determine the best way to meet this requirement while finalising their own financial planning.

Initially, Palmeiras were reluctant to offer any form of compensation to Real Betis, but a potential solution could see Betis retaining a minor percentage of Roque’s future sale value.

There is also a possibility that Barcelona or Palmeiras could arrange a loan move for the player if necessary. However, Betis are not expected to block the transfer, as they recognise that maintaining a strong relationship with Barcelona.
