A headline member of the midfield ranks at Real Betis looks increasingly likely to miss his side’s upcoming showdown with Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Giovani Lo Celso as the player in question.

Argentine international Lo Celso was for his part forced to sit out training on Monday.

This comes with the former Tottenham Hotspur man continuing to suffer with the effects of a fitness problem picked up against Real Valladolid over the weekend.

Lo Celso has for his part enjoyed a superb start to life back in Betis’ colours, having racked up seven goals and an assist across 13 La Liga appearances to date.

In turn, it would come as a heavy blow were the 28-year-old to miss out against Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Manuel Pellegrini’s troops are primed to lock horns with a Barca outfit fresh off clinching glory in the Spanish Super Cup, in the Last-16 of the Copa del Rey in two days’ time.
