Recently, La Liga has officially filed an appeal against the decision taken by the CSD, which allowed Dani Olmo and Pau Victor to remain registered as FC Barcelona players.

It appears the league is not only challenging the resolution but has also taken an extra step by requesting precautionary measures to temporarily suspend the players’ eligibility while the legal process unfolds.

When will the appeal be resolved?

As long as La Liga’s complaint is registered in the system, there will always remain a shadow of uncertainty, as far as the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor is concerned.

To that end, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered comprehensive insights into the potential timeline of La Liga’s complaint proceedings.

The report notes that La Liga has not requested an emergency or extremely temporary measure, but a standard precautionary one. This means that a formal process must be followed.

That could begin on Tuesday, when the judge will begin reviewing the request and will then notify the other party, represented by the State Attorney’s Office.

The State Attorney’s Office will be given ten business days to present their arguments. However, that is when things get interesting.

With the holy Easter Week falling during this period, and Saturdays also not counted, the ten-day deadline stretches to April 23.

This means the judge is not expected to have all the necessary documentation before that date.

Only then will a decision be made – either to grant the suspension, which would sideline Olmo and Pau Victor, or to deny it, allowing them to continue playing.

This could play into the hands of Barcelona, who will be hoping the proceedings get delayed as much as possible so that both Olmo and Victor remain eligible to play.
