In addition to his goals for the team, he also spoke about his personal idol, Neymar. Despite Lionel Messi’s legendary status at Barcelona, Yamal has always looked up to Neymar.
He recalled how, at just five years old, he first saw Neymar play for Santos and later had the chance to see him in action at the Camp Nou when he was seven.
“I was five years old when I saw Neymar at Santos and at seven I saw him in person at the Camp Nou. It was amazing to watch.”
He described the experience as amazing and said that Neymar’s impact on him was unmatched. While Messi was undoubtedly incredible, Yamal believes that Neymar stood out as something truly special, and he remains a football legend in his eyes.
“Yes, it’s true, there was Messi, who was also incredible, but Neymar was something different. Neymar has always been my idol. He is a star and a legend of football,” he noted.
