Joan Laporta recently spoke to the press after attending the opening of the photographic exhibition ‘Tant se val d’on venim,’ which celebrates 30 years of the Fundació Barça’s impactful work.

The Barcelona president notably talked about the recent controversy surrounding Dani Olmo’s registration woes as well as Barça’s recent win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Laporta on the Olmo, Victor situation

Following LaLiga’s decision to invalidate the financial fair play operation that permitted the registration of Pau Victor and Dani Olmo, Laporta admitted anxiety had stirred within the Barcelona camp.

“Of course, we were worried when that news came out before the match. We know how things work and these attempts to destabilize the team don’t surprise us,” Laporta said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

However, CSD has recently put out a statement favouring Barcelona and staying on the decision to grant a precautionary measure that allowed the club to register Olmo and Victor.

Branding La Liga’s move as a way to get Barcelona’s attention, Laporat claimed that the team remained strong and wasn’t impacted.

“Fortunately, the players remained strong and understood that there was no reason to be alarmed, since the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor was carried out correctly, and we followed all the federation and LaLiga requirements,” he said.

“We know they can’t beat us on the field; they try to do it in the offices, but that’s not going to affect us,” he added.

Laporta on the season so far and treble hopes

Laporat went on to talk about Barcelona’s season so far. With Barcelona still competing on all fronts, Laporta could not hide his enthusiasm for the progress made this season.

“We’re having a very intense season, and the opportunity to achieve great things is within reach. The first thing I like is enjoying our coach’s work and how the team is performing,” he said.

When asked about Barcelona’s ambitions for the remainder of the campaign, Laporta even claimed that the team is dreaming of a treble.

“The team is really hungry and with the success we’re having, they’re dreaming of the treble,” he concluded.
