Leeds United put four past Bristol City to put themselves top of the league with a healthy goal difference going into the final weekend.

The Robins knew that a win against Leeds would ensure their first play-off place since the 2007/08 season but the Whites were in no mood to be handing out favours.

Instead, Daniel Farke's team were rampant in front of a raucous Elland Road crowd with the home side starting strong and having a Manor Solomon goal ruled out due to Joël Piroe being in an offside position.

Parity didn't last long though and Leeds took the lead in the 21st minute when a corner was defended by Bristol City only for the ball to be sent back in by Solomon with Ao Tanaka getting the final touch.

The second goal came 10 minutes after the break with Leeds breaking thanks to an excellent pass from Piroe that found Willy Gnonto to finish with style.

Largie Ramazani had been on the pitch for just a matter of seconds when he tapped in from Júnior Firpo's low cross.

The substitute then added further polish to the scoreline in stoppage time when he brought down Illia Gruev's pass before applying a clinical finish.

That win not only underlined Leeds' title credentials but also the hope of them being able to establish themselves in the Premier League next year.

Meanwhile Bristol City will be hoping the four goals they shipped don't come back to haunt them on the final day of the season.
