It is now advantage Napoli in the Serie A title race.

The Partenopei have a three-point lead over Inter at the top of the league table after Inter Milan lost against Bologna and Roma.

And just as importantly, Napoli look more like the team who can close the season with a winning run.

Inter have lacked the consistency and energy to impose themselves in big matches.

On the other hand, Napoli have been relentless in getting wins and clean sheets.

Therefore, it will be incredibly difficult for Inter to haul back the league leaders. If it’s possible at all.

Apart from their difficulties in the league, Inter Milan also know full well that they can’t win the Treble after going out of the Coppa Italia against city rivals AC Milan.

Former Inter President Massimo Moratti stated that “what I found strange was that people were talking about the Treble.”

“In my time, we never talked about the Treble,” he added.

“When we won, we realized it was the Treble. But it wasn’t an obsession.”

Moratti noted that “the loss in the Coppa Italia caused disappointment for this team.”

He added that “Inter suffered a confusion of their goals.”

“We look a bit tired. I think there’s a bigger possibility of Napoli doing it, everything goes back to Conte.”

Meanwhile, Moratti admitted that “the day we won the Treble, I was enthusiastic.”

“But I also had a feeling that was different from what you’d expect. We’d achieved a result, which we thought would be harder.”

The former Inter President recalled, “as soon as you win you have to think about what comes next.”

“Achieving the impossible takes away some of the happiness,” Moratti mused.
