Rico Lewis made his 25th Premier League start in Sunday's Premier League win over Wolves and in doing so furthered his leading tally of top-flight starts under Pep Guardiola.

Kingsley Coman is the next most started teenager under Guardiola, making the line-up in 20 Bundesliga games before turning 20.

Former Barcelona prodigy Bojan Krkic is next with 16 before former City defender Eric Garcia completes the top four with 10 starts of his own.

The 19-year-old Academy graduate has grown immensely in stature within the Catalan's squad since his first league start at Leeds United in December 2022.

The Academy graduate's ability when defending at right-back before moving into midfield when City regain possession has made him one of Guardiola's highly trusted lieutenants.

The late, late win over Wolves was his 61st senior appearance in total for City and a 37th game in the Premier League.

City have won 48 of the 61 matches Lewis has played in, losing just five times while the boyhood fan has already lifted six major honours for the club.

The victory at Molineux also totted up a club record unbeaten run in the history of the top-flight, making it 31 outings since our last defeat in the Premier League.

Josko Gvardiol scored City's first, responding to Jorgen Strand Larsen's opener with a sublime right-footed strike from 20 yards.

That made him the Premier League's highest scoring defender in 2024, having now netted six times since the turn of the year.

John Stones' eventual winner in the final throws of the game came from our 18th corner of the afternoon, which is the most taken by any side in the Premier League so far this season.

Our dominance in general play was best demonstrated by the 539 passes we completed in Wolves' half - which is our third most in an away game since the statistic was first measured in 2003/04.

The result furthers our excellent record against Wolves in recent seasons, winning eight of our last nine matches against the Molineux side, scoring 27 goals in the process.

It also ensures we remain the Premier League's only unbeaten team after eight games of the 2024/25 campaign.

Premier League stats so far this season

Erling Haaland is the Premier League's top scorer with 10 strikes. Bryan Mbeumo and Cole Palmer are next on six each.

Our 19 goals in total is the most in the division, with Spurs next on 18.

Ruben Dias has played more passes than anyone else in the division, completing 691. We have four players in the top 10 for this metric, with Manuel Akanji, Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol also charged with keeping the ball moving.

Our 5,188 completed passes so far is way ahead of anyone else in the league, with leaders Liverpool playing 4,409 after eight matches. Our tally means we are averaging 649 passes per game.
